Reuben Foster to Join the Crimson Tide: College Football News at YouWager

Linebacker Reuben Foster (Auburn, Ala./Auburn) has decided to commit to play with the Alabama Crimson Tide and running back Alex Collins (Plantation, Fla./South Plantation) has chosen the Arkansas Razorbacks.

As YouWager experts point out, Foster is the nation’s No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 16 recruit in the ESPN 150, while Collins is the No. 7 running back and No. 57 recruit.

The 5 Star linebacker, who originally committed to the Tide two years ago before decommitting this past July and committing to the Auburn Tigers, has once again picked Alabama after making a second decommitment in December.

Foster’s recruitment has been one of the more intriguing stories of the 2013 recruiting cycle, including moving out of Georgia to Auburn, Ala., getting an Auburn tattoo, taking official visits to West Coast programs Washington Huskies and San Diego State Aztecs, and, most recently, reportedly leaving his official visit to Auburn a day early to take an unofficial trip to Alabama last weekend.

In adding Foster, the Crimson Tide has regained the services of one of their top commitments in the class, giving Nick Saban the No. 1 in-state prospect and moving this college football team even closer to another No. 1 recruiting class.

With Collins, Arkansas pulled off one of their biggest recruiting victories of the past few years. Collins was committed to play with the Miami Hurricanes for several months but opened things back up in November. The Florida native took official visits to Wisconsin, Florida State, Florida, Miami and Arkansas. The Miami NCAA football team was hoping to get him back, but in the end, he chose the Razorbacks.

There was the chance that Arkansas was going to start the 2013 season with only three running backs, however now with Collins on board things are bound to be different. Getting a prospect who was wanted by all three in-state programs has to be considered a huge coup for this team, and the Razorbacks will certainly try to take advantage of that when recruiting in the Sunshine State in the future.
