The player’s followers are invited to attend his retirement news conference and tickets will be distributed free of charge, according to what YouWager has learned.
Drivers was taken in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL draft out of Alcorn State and now will retire as the Packers’ all-time leader in receptions (743) and yards (10,137). The texas native also had 61 touchdown receptions (third on the team’s all-time list) in 205 career games, all with Green Bay.
Driver’s one of only 18 wide receivers in NFL history with 700-plus career catches and 10,000 or more receiving yards in 200 games. The only other player who played more games in a Packers uniform has been Brett Favre.
In addition to his performance, Driver was also popular among fans for his bright smile and infectious laugh, and moved by his story of overcoming many difficulties. During his childhood Driver and his family were so poor that he, his mother and siblings sometimes spent the nights in a U-Haul. Driver and his brother stole cars to get money as well as selling drugs.
Now, Driver has stated that he is looking forward to spending more time with his wife and three children.
