New York Jets (3-5 SU, 5-3 ATS) vs. Seattle Seahawks (5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS)
Kickoff: Sunday, November 11th, at 4:05 PM Eastern.
Line: -6 Seattle
Rex Ryan, head coach of the New York Jets, is cheerful, even after he was named the Most Overrated Coach in the NFL in a recent poll. He told a YouWager news source, ”My first thought was, I looked and saw who was second. Hey, I finally beat Belichick.” I got him,” he said. “I knew it would take time, but I finally got him.”
So far, that’s the only Ryan has been able to beat the coach of the Patriots in the AFC East. Ryan’s Jets are 3-5 this season, but Ryan seems optimistic about the rest of the 2012 NFL football wagering season. ”At the end of the year, we’ll see who’s overrated.” Ryan told YouWager’s source. Ryan’s backup quarterback, Tim Tebow says he understands why Ryan is seen in extremes. ‘‘New York is polarizing, and you are either on one side or the other,” Tebow said.
The Jets come to Seattle after losing 4 of their last 5 games. This includes their embarrassing 30-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. With their 3-5 record and a QB controversy that continues to nag them, the Jets will try to see if like the old song, they can “straighten up and fly right.” but that might be a very tall order. Oddsmakers at YouWager currently have the Jets as 6-point underdogs against Seattle. Both teams feature offenses that aim to run the ball, and defenses that try to pound their opponents into the ground. But only the Seahawks have been able to actually do this.
Marshawn Lynch has been running the ball 138.9 yards per game for Seattle, and that seems to take some of the pressure off their rookie QB, Russell Wilson. Seattle’s defense is ranked 4th in the NFL in yards and 3rd in scoring, allowing opponents only 17 points per game.
Shonn Green, for the Jets, has not been as successful, with 109.8 yards per game. When the Jets fall behind, early in a game, New York typically abandons the ground game, many YouWager bettors feel. This isn’t helping QB Sanchez. New York’s defense has been plagued with injuries (Darrelle Revis, Kenrick Ellis, Sione Po’uha) and they have given up big yardage on the ground, 141 yards per game.
The AFC-NFC series only happen once in every four seasons, so these two clubs haven’t met since back in December of 2008. That battle was 13-3 victory for Seattle. The Seahawks have won all 4 of their games at home this season. This includes wins over Green Bay and New England, and last weekend, they took care of the Minnesota Vikings 30-20. The Seahawks often count on the ability to mount a fourth quarter surge or a last-minute victory. But Seattle is only 2-8 straight up against the Jets since 1985. Many seasoned YouWager bettors are counting on the Over here. An NFL wagering expert at YouWager expects to Marshawn Lynch run over the Jets defense, and thinks the Seahawks should beat the Jets by at least 2 touchdowns.
At YouWager, the Seahawks are 6-point favorites. The total is 38. Game time on Sunday is 4:05 PM Eastern.
