Outlook for 2010

In Tony Sparano’s first season with Miami, the Dolphins managed to improve from one win to 11. However, the director of football operations for the team, Bill Parcells and YouWager.com readers are expecting more from the Miami football team. With several key players on both sides of the ball suffering from injuries, the Dolphins found themselves in the thick of the playoff race in December. Despite of it all, QB Chad Henne had a solid year. The top three wide receivers combined for five touchdowns between them as Miami focused its offense around the tandem of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the backfield. The team drafted Brandon Marshall (Broncos) for two draft picks and gave their franchise QB what they were looking for, a franchise wide receiver. On his own, Marshall grabbed 10 touchdowns—and finished third in the NFL with 101 receptions. Guards Richie Incognito (Bills) joins an emerging line that also includes left tackle Jake Long…Just like in the offensive line, the defense lacked an impact player, and more than one single player was brought to the bunch to turn around a unit that finished No. 22 in the NFL. The biggest move came with Karlos Dansby (Cardinals). However, seven of their eight NFL draft picks were used on defense. With the current lineup, the Jets are the clear alpha dog in the AFC East with the Patriots possibly being ripe for the taking. YouWager.com sportsbook bettors shouldn’t be tricked by Miami’s stumble to the finish. With Brown back and having Marshall on board, the Dolphins could very well be NFL playoff contenders.

YouWager.com Regular Season Wins Prop: Over/Under 8.5

StatFox prediction: The current Miami Dolphins team has a lot of things going for them. Online sports wagering fans know that Chad Henne is not an automatic at QB yet and any team that runs the wildcat as regularly as the Dolphins is relying too much on their tricks. Also, Miami ranked 20th in the NFL last year in scoring and yardage differential. The New England Patriots are not to be dismissed just yet. Betting on the Dolphins adds up to a playoff-less season in South Beach. UNDER.
